Flanked by tennis coaches Mrs. Peggy Miner (’70) and Mrs. Cindy Koenig, two DHS seniors make the next steps in their athletic careers official. Joined by Principal Carolyn Favre (’70) and Athletic Director Paul Spitzfaden, Jillian Sandoz and Gabby Terranova signed in early April to play tennis on the college level.
Sandoz will continue to play tennis at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Terranova will play tennis at Loyola University in New Orleans.
Sandoz and Terranova both started tennis at DHS as freshmen and were members on the 2014-2017 District Championship and 2014-2016 State Championship teams. “Playing tennis at Dominican really helped me earn my spot on the Loyola team, and I am extremely thankful,” said Terranova.
Sandoz and Terranova join teammate Morgan Forshag as college-level players. In November, Forshag accepted her athletic scholarship for tennis from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette.

Morgan Forshag
Forshag has won numerous titles including State Champion in Doubles 2014, State Champion in Doubles 2015, and State Champion in Singles 2016. Forshag has also been a part of the 2014-2017 District Championship and 2014-2016 State Championship teams.
“I am excited to continue playing tennis through college, and I am extremely grateful for my team,” said Forshag.
